Wang dropped out of MIT to co-found Scale AI in 2016, building it into the dominant data-labeling and model-evaluation supplier for frontier AI developers and, briefly, the world's youngest self-made billionaire. In June 2025 Meta took a 49% stake in Scale and hired him as its first Chief AI Officer; he now co-leads Meta Superintelligence Labs, the company's frontier-AI effort.
