Evan Shelhamer

Shelhamer co-created fully convolutional networks, which turned image segmentation—labeling every pixel—into an end-to-end deep-learning task. The approach became a foundation for systems that outline objects in medical scans, street scenes, and photographs. He is a professor at UBC and Vector Institute faculty member.
