Ross began Google's TPU as a side project, then founded Groq to develop deterministic, low-latency LPU inference chips. He joined NVIDIA as Chief Software Architect in December 2025 through a non-exclusive agreement licensing Groq's inference technology; Groq continues as an independent company.
