Alex Imas announced that he is joining Google DeepMind as Director of AGI Economics on Shane Legg's team while on leave from Chicago Booth. He said the team will study how frontier AI could reshape the economy, including work and labor, wealth and power distribution, institutional adaptation, AI-agent-shaped markets, and models for reasoning about unfamiliar futures.
