Beicheng Lou announced on X on 21 October 2026 that he had left Anthropic and joined Flapping Airplanes. He did not specify his new role or exact employment dates.
Lou’s research spans machine learning and physics. He co-authored CRoPE, a method for making a language model’s attention mechanism more compact, and previously studied ways to predict and control light in layered optical materials.
