Da Huang leaves Google DeepMind for Discovery Loop

Da Huang announced on X on October 10 that he had left Google DeepMind after ten years at Google and was joining Discovery Loop.

He described his work as progressing from manually tuning models to automated machine learning, and now to recursive self-improvement: AI systems helping improve their own capabilities. He said this would be his focus at Discovery Loop.

His profile lists his role as Member of Technical Staff. He did not give an exact start date; the date recorded here is the announcement date.
