Edward Hu announced on September 2 that he was joining Mercor to lead model training and research. His current title is Head of AI Modeling.
Hu is the first author of LoRA, a widely used method for adapting large AI models without retraining every part of them. In his announcement, he described plans to share model-training research openly and connect it with expert-produced training data.
