Engram formally introduced its work on X: models that learn from a person or organization's private context, including shared documents, company knowledge, workflows, and the long tail of information that current chat interfaces usually forget.

The company says its first product is an API for agents that can learn on very large shared knowledge workspaces.

Engram named early work with Notion, Harvey, and Microsoft, and says it has raised $98 million from General Catalyst, Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia, Factory, Modern, Amplify Partners, Neo, SV Angel, and others.

The founding team includes Dan Biderman, Sabri Eyuboglu, Jessy Lin, Jack Morris, and Scott Linderman, spanning Stanford, Berkeley AI, FAIR, Cornell, and research on memory, retrieval, active reading, state space models, and efficient long-context systems.
