Fidji Simo announced on X that she is leaving her full-time role at OpenAI and transitioning to part-time advisor. She had led OpenAI's product and business organization, first as CEO of Applications and later as CEO of AGI Deployment.
Simo said the decision follows a three-month medical leave after a severe exacerbation of POTS, a chronic condition she has discussed publicly. She said the experience reinforced her interest in applying AI to health. OpenAI has not publicly named a successor.
