Igor Babuschkin announced on X that he has launched River AI, where he is Co-Founder and CEO.
Babuschkin previously co-founded xAI, which he had left some time before this announcement.
He framed River as a bet on "personal AI that is owned and shaped by you," an explicit alternative to leading models controlled by a small number of large corporations. He said the team is building a new personal stack for AI and expects to ship soon.
