Karandeep Anand to join Disney as chief technology officer

Karandeep Anand announced on LinkedIn that he will join Disney as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Disney said the newly created role takes effect October 2 and reports directly to CEO Josh D'Amaro.

Anand will oversee enterprise technology, infrastructure, data and AI platforms, product, and engineering across Disney. Members of Character.AI's technical team are also expected to join him.

Anand has led Character.AI since May 2025. He previously served as president and chief product officer at Brex and held product and engineering leadership roles at Meta and Microsoft.
