Michael Nicolls, the SpaceX executive who led Starlink engineering, has become president of xAI, according to reporting on the company's April reorganization. The bulk of xAI's engineering organization reports to him.
Nicolls remains affiliated with SpaceX, where he rose from principal engineer to senior vice president of Starlink. He previously co-founded LeoLabs and spent nearly a decade developing radar and remote-sensing systems at SRI International.
