Oriol Vinyals announced on X that he is leaving Google DeepMind after 13 years across Google Brain, DeepMind and the combined organization.
During that run he worked on sequence-to-sequence learning and distillation and co-led major systems including AlphaStar and Gemini. Vinyals is now co-founding Discovery Loop with Jeff Dean, Sanjay Ghemawat and Quoc Le.
