Peter Bailis joined Anthropic as a Member of Technical Staff in March 2026. Business Insider reported that Anthropic confirmed the hire and said Bailis would work on reinforcement-learning engineering. He joined from Workday, where he had been Chief Technology Officer, after earlier roles as a VP at Google, assistant professor at Stanford, and founder and CEO of Sisu Data.
