Radical Numerics launched from stealth on June 15, 2026 with a $50 million seed round led by Emergence Capital, with participation from Obvious Ventures, Triatomic Capital, Factory, and First Spark Ventures.
The company was founded by Eric Nguyen (CEO), Michael Poli (Chief AI Scientist), Stefano Massaroli (President), and Armin Thomas (CTO). Three of the four founders previously worked on model design at Liquid AI.
The team created the Evo and Evo 2 genome models, and previewed Omnii, a genome language model shown identifying causal regulatory variants and detecting AI-generated or manipulated pathogen sequences.
The lab frames its mission as a dual mandate: biological design and biodefense.
