Ryo Lu announced on X that he has left Cursor, where he was head of design. He said he plans to begin again in Asia, seeking a slower rhythm and space to build freely. No next employer or formal venture was announced.
At Cursor, Lu helped develop interfaces that bring design and code closer together. Its visual editor lets people manipulate a running interface directly, while Design Mode gives coding agents richer visual instructions through selected elements, drawings and voice.
Lu previously spent more than five years at Notion as a founding designer and product and design lead, following an earlier product-design role at Stripe.
