Sharut Gupta announced on X on October 15 that she had joined Google DeepMind as a Research Scientist on the RSI team, after recently defending her PhD at MIT. She described her first month at DeepMind; the post did not give an exact start date.

At MIT, Gupta was advised by Phillip Isola and Stefanie Jegelka. Her research explores how AI can adapt to new tasks and learn across different kinds of data. She co-led ContextSSL, a method that helps models adjust which features matter for a task without retraining.
