Sihao Huang announced on X that he is joining Anthropic as Head of Frontier Compute Strategy. He will work with co-founder and chief compute officer Tom Brown on expanding the chips, data centers, and partnerships needed to support the company's AI systems.
Huang joins Anthropic after serving as Senior Policy Advisor for AI and Emerging Technology at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where he led the AI team and worked across national security, science policy, and semiconductor issues. He previously served as chief analyst for emerging technologies at the U.S. National Science Foundation.
He wrote that the White House role showed him how decisions made at frontier AI companies can shape national policy, and that his new position would bring him closer to those decisions.
