Steven Adler and Page Hedley launch Guidelight AI Standards

Steven Adler announced on LinkedIn on May 19 that he and Page Hedley, both former OpenAI safety leaders, had launched [Guidelight AI Standards](/org/guidelight-ai-standards). Adler serves as Co-founder & Chief Scientist, while Hedley is Co-founder & CEO.

Guidelight develops concrete practices for safer frontier-AI development, publishes standards describing those practices, and assesses companies against them using public information and company disclosures. Its aim is to make safety performance visible and create pressure—from staff, customers, investors, and the public—for companies to improve.

The nonprofit launched with its first two standards, giving frontier labs specific practices they can implement rather than only broad principles.
