Tamay Besiroglu is now a Research Scientist at Google DeepMind, according to his updated LinkedIn profile. The profile dates the new role from August 2026 and his departure from Mechanize to the same month. Besiroglu has not announced the transition publicly.
Besiroglu co-founded Mechanize in April 2025 and served as its CEO. The company is developing AI agents intended to automate economically valuable computer work.
Before Mechanize, Besiroglu co-founded Epoch AI, the research institute that tracks trends in AI compute, data, capabilities and economics.
