Yanhong Li announced on X that she has joined Thinking Machines Lab as a member of technical staff, where she is working on pretraining.
Li spent the previous year as a predoctoral researcher at Ai2, studying hybrid model architectures, linear RNNs, and data-efficient language-model pretraining. She was also a visiting student at MIT CSAIL in summer 2025 and graduated from the University of Chicago that year.
